New York Fisheries 2022 Fall Egg Collection Summary

brook trout provided by DECThe New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s fisheries staff were treated to mostly cooperative weather during the busy fall egg take season in the Adirondacks.

100 Acres Added to Klipnocky State Forest, Allegany County

dog in orange hunting vest with two pheasants it retrieved after a successful hunt on Klipnocky State ForestIn the winter of 2021, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) acquired 100 acres in the Klipnocky State Forest. Already a unique forest, this new property adds a new level of habitat diversity to the area. It is composed of 25 acres of hay fields and 55 acres of early successional habitat that is chock-full of blueberries, thornapple, and dogwoods. Bridge Completes New Oswego County Little Sandy Creek Trail

Little Sandy Creek Bridge (3)The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced the completion of the Little Sandy Creek Bridge, a 110-foot structure that extends over Little Sandy Creek in the Winona State Forest.

The newly constructed bridge, located in the town of Boylston, Oswego County, is part of the new one-mile Little Sandy Creek Trail, completed this fall in partnership with the Winona Forest Recreation Association (WFRA). Broadalbin Public Boat Launch Comments Sought

DEC LogoThe Adirondack Park Agency (APA) and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) are holding a joint public comment period to solicit comments for the Broadalbin Public Boat Launch Draft Unit Management Plan (UMP).
