About The New York Almanack

New York State CountiesFounded by John Warren in 2008 as The New York History Blog, the New York Almanack is updated several times per day.

In addition to our traditional focus on history, we also publish around the topics of natural history and the environment, outdoor recreation, arts and culture, and New York State food and farms.

More than 100 writers have contributed to the New York Almanack from around the state and across disciplines.
