Founded in the tradition of an old-time press by John Warren in 2008, the New York Almanack is typically updated several times per day.
The Almanack is created by journalists, historians, preservationists, authors, and media producers from around the state and across disciplines.
In addition to a focus on New York State history and natural history, the Almanack publishes stories about outdoor recreation, the environment, arts and culture, and about gardening, food and farms.
We regularly report and curate news from the cultural sector including exhibits, events, and new publications.
