Warren Co Historical To Mark Tragic Railroad Accident

Delaware and Hudson Passenger Train headed toward Lake George from Queensbury in 1948 by Charles E AubreyOn September 5, 1915, five members of the Nelson Norton family of Whitehall, NY were killed when the car in which they were riding was struck by a train as they crossed the railroad tracks at Bay Road in Queensbury, Warren County, NY.

Warren County Historical Reopening August 4

Warren Co Historical Society Annual Meeting Set

The guest speaker at the Warren County Historical Society’s (WCHC) Annual Meeting will be Saratoga Springs artist Anne Diggory, who will give a new presentation, “Painting Warren County,” in which she will discuss the role of historic regional landscape artists in her own work.

Chartered in 1997, the Society offers a museum and exhibits, a resource library, collections and archives, historical programs, research and genealogy, publications, a quarterly newsletter, student internships, community history, and a book shop at its headquarters on 50 Gurney Lane in Queensbury.

Warren County Historical Society Open House Nov 7th

Warren County Historical SocietyThe Warren County Historical Society is set to hold its annual Open House on Saturday, November 9th from 11 am to 2 pm at its headquarters and museum on 50 Gurney Lane, in Queensbury, NY.

The Society’s new permanent exhibition, “Warren County 360: Celebrating Place and People,” will be featured, along with a display of Warren County postmarks and post office history, as well as a “Hands-On-History” station. Warren Co Historical Annual Gala Highlights Charlie Chaplin

WCHS galaThe Warren County Historical Society is set to hold its 3rd Annual Gala, “A Step Back in Time with Charlie Chaplin” on Tuesday, June 4th from 7 to 9:30 pm at The Park Theater, 14 Park Street, Glens Falls.
