Columbia Co 34th Annual Gallery of Wreaths

holiday wreath provided by Columbia County Historical SocietyColumbia County Historical Society (CCHS) has announced that they are seeking donations of wreaths for the 34th Annual Gallery of Wreaths.

A Columbia County tradition, the Gallery of Wreaths kicks off the holiday season this year by displaying donated wreaths in the circa 1819 James Vanderpoel ‘House of History’ in Kinderhook, during Thanksgiving Weekend, November 29th through December 1st. Columbia Co: Gallery of Wreaths Exhibit, Auction

christmas wreathHoliday Wreaths created by community members, organizations, local businesses and artists will be on display at the James Vanderpoel ‘House of History’ in Kinderhook Friday to Sunday, December 1-3 from noon to 4 pm, marking the 32nd Annual Gallery of Wreaths and Silent Auction to benefit the Columbia County Historical Society (CCHS), hosted by the CCHS Volunteers.

The Silent Auction helps support exhibitions and programs for county children and adults. In addition to participating in a Holiday Raffle, the public is invited to bid on live, dried, artificial and mixed-media wreaths all weekend. Installation View A Study of Style, Masters and Callan GalleriesFrom Hudson Valley Furniture (1937) to Decorative Paperweights (1947), to American Modern Art (1955), the Vanderpoel House exhibited an array of objects aimed at inspiring an interest in history and preservation within Columbia County. Some of the loaned pieces were eventually gifted into Columbia County Historical Society’s permanent collection where they remain the enjoyment of future generations.
