Featured Trail: Foxy Brown XC Trail In Jessup River Wild Forest

Piseco Airport map courtesy Adirondack AtlasThe Foxy Brown X-Country Ski Trail is a 5.6-mile trail located within the Jessup River Wild Forest, in Piseco (in the town of Arietta, Hamilton County).

After traveling along the Piseco Airport runway, the trail routes users primarily through over a newly built bridge across a muddy bog and northern hardwood forest. To complete a loop, users will follow the trail just north of the runway and should be sure to check for oncoming aircraft before traveling back to the trailhead and parking area. Featured Adirondack Hike: Whiteface Landing

whiteface landing mapWhiteface Landing in the McKenzie Mountain Wilderness, in Wilmington, Essex County, can be accessed via the waters of Lake Placid or a 2.5-mile trail which is also the first portion of the Whiteface Mountain Trail to the Mountain’s Summit.

Featured Adirondack Hike: Owen, Copperas, and Winch Ponds

owens copperas winch ponds mapThese three ponds are located in the Sentinel Range Wilderness Area, in North Elba, Essex County, and offer excellent loop opportunities, and provides views of the scenic wilderness ponds, their picturesque shorelines and 3,616-foot Stewart Mountain and 3,892-foot Kilburn Mountain.
