State Parks’ Post-War Pools and Bathhouses
As New York’s state park system continued to develop in the post-war era, buildings and features accommodating an expanding range of functions were needed to meet the surge of visitation that followed the end of the war.

Wildlife Rescues: A Rattler, Falcon, Fawn, Ducklings & Eagle
New York Almanack regularly reports on wildlife rescues that take place around the state. Recently New York State Environmental Conservation Officers (ECOs) rescued a number of wild animals from around New York State, including a peregrine falcon in Manhattan, a whitetail deer fawn in the Catskills, ducklings from a storm drain on Long Island, a rattlesnake in Letchworth State Park and a bald eagle at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Graycliff in Erie County. A major donation of historic objects by the Graycliff Conservancy Board of Directors to the University at Buffalo Libraries will add to the university’s already extensive Frank Lloyd Wright collection, further establishing UB as the most comprehensive source in Western New York for research materials related to the celebrated architect and his creative process.
