Salmon River Fish Hatchery
Built in 1980, the Salmon River Fish Hatchery specializes in raising Chinook salmon, coho salmon, steelhead, and brown trout.

The Salmon River Fish Hatchery’s new fish ladder is almost ready.
Chinook and Coho Salmon stocked in Lake Ontario tributaries return to spawn. This can make for some exciting fish watching as salmon move upstream and jump or otherwise navigate various obstructions, such as the fish ladder, on their way to their desired spawning sites.
