Holiday Twilight Tours Returning to Boscobel

boscobel house twilight toursBoscobel House and Gardens has announced Twilight Tours set for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, November 23 – 25; Saturday and Sunday, December 1 – 2; and Saturday and Sunday, December 8 – 9.

Collapsible armchairThe Boscobel House and Gardens has announced its 2018 exhibition, Campaign Furniture: The March of Portable Design, featuring two dozen 18th and 19th century examples that are as functional as they are elegant. Collapsible chairs, tables, beds, and more were once considered essential equipment for military officers, Hudson River School artists, and well-heeled tourists. Military Reenactment Day at Boscobel, Garrison, NY

Boscobel military reenactmentThe Boscobel House and Gardens in Garrison, in partnership with The Living History Education Foundation has announced a Military Reenactment Day set for Sunday, August 26 from 11 am to 4 pm.

On the grounds of Boscobel House and Gardens, directly overlooking the Hudson River and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, military reenactors will set up encampments from the American Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, and World Wars. Boscobel House and Gardens Open for the Season

An 1824 inventory of the house, discovered in 1989, combined with more recent scholarly research projects, continues to inform the interpretation of Boscobel as it updates and improves the mansion’s furnishings and surrounding property.
