Fulton Co In Hollywood Talk at Schoharie Crossing
Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site is set to host Samantha Hall-Saladino, the Fulton County Historian, on Tuesday, November 20th for a presentation titled “Fulton County in Hollywood.” The NYS History Month program will be held in the Enders House and begins at 6:30 pm.
This program will explore Fulton County’s links to MGM Studios, the Schine theater empire and its connection to McCarthyism, local celebrities, and more in this presentation about the area’s silver screen history. As the historian, Hall-Saladino works to share and preserve the county’s extensive history through various avenues, including writing, educational programming, and advocacy. Suffrage Plaque Dedication at Fulton County Courthouse, Johnstown
The Elizabeth Cady Stanton Women’s Consortium will place a historic plaque in front of the historic Fulton County Courthouse on the corner of S. William and W. Main Streets, in Johnstown where Stanton’s father, Judge Daniel Cady, practiced law.
Active since 2006, ECSWC is a collective of eight women’s organizations from Fulton and Montgomery Counties committed to honoring and continuing the advocacy for women pioneered by Johnstown native Elizabeth Cady Stanton. The Consortium supports women’s education, history, culture, leadership and equity through a variety of activities.
