NYS Canal System Opening Update

Lift Bridge at Adams Basin by Tony SolpietroThe NYS Canal Corporation has announced that its maintenance and construction projects are set to resume on a regional basis under the “NY Forward Reopening” plan.

Schoharie Aqueduct Restoration Update

Schoharie Crossing on Erie Canal showing 9 arches of aqueduct at Fort HunterThe Aqueduct Alliance is an informal group of organizations and individuals working to preserve the Schoharie Aqueduct, the ruins of the Erie Canal aqueduct over Schoharie Creek at Schoharie Crossing. They hope to expand the knowledge and appreciation of the structure, and make it more accessible to visitors.
