Adirondack Conditions: Dry, Waters Remain Low, Popular Areas Remain Busy

adirondack conditions 9-10Although colder spots have been seeing nighttime temperatures in the 40s, on Wednesday much of the region reached the lower 80s, and it’s remained warm enough for comfortable camping, with water temperatures warm enough for swimming. Temperatures are forecast to remain near normal for the next week.

There is some rain and morning fog in the forecast for this weekend however, so keep an eye on the weather. Summit temperatures are expected to remain mostly in the 50s, although Sunday morning could be windy and rainy at higher elevations. Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers! Sets Sail on Lake Champlain

Public Input Sought For Lake Placid Management Plan

Shore Owners Association of Lake PlacidThe Shore Owners’ Association of Lake Placid (LPSOA) is seeking public input to help inform the development of a lake management plan for Lake Placid.

Earlier this year, LPSOA began working with Dr. Brendan Wiltse from the Ausable River Association on the development of a lake management plan. Lake Placid is classified as AA-S by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the highest water quality classification possible. Oneida Lake’s Historic Cleveland Dock Project Complete

Cleveland Dock Fishing Access Site Rehabilitation of the historic Cleveland Dock Fishing Access Site on Oneida Lake is complete and the site is now open to the public.

Located at 69 State Route 49 in the village of Cleveland, Oswego County, the dock provides access for fishing and draws visitors for open water fishing, ice fishing, and boat docking.
