On October 9th, 1777, Nathaniel Bacheller, a militia adjutant from New Hampshire, wrote a letter to his wife, Suzanna. It was discovered by historians when it appeared on the auction site eBay this past winter and was sold to an unknown buyer for $2,925. A digital copy was downloaded and a transcript of the letter was made before it went to join the buyer’s private collection.

David R. Ossont and David Dampf’s new novel The Ghosts of Saratoga (Milford House Press, 2019) takes a look back at the American Revolution Battles of Saratoga.
Saratoga National Historical Park has announced a new partnership with The American Battlefield Trust and American Veterans Archaeological Recovery (AVAR) to bring veterans together to undertake an archaeological survey of the Barber Wheatfield, a historic site associated with the 1777 Saratoga battlefield, set for late Spring 2019. 
The Fort Plain Museum is set to host Beyond the Battles of Saratoga – “The Fate of General Burgoyne’s Army,” led by Larry Arnold on Thursday, November 8th. The event starts at 7 pm and will be held at the museum located at 389 Canal Street, Fort Plain, NY. 
On October 28, 2018, the Lower Manhattan Historical Association (LMHA), the Sons of the Revolution of the State of New York, the New York Veteran Corps of Artillery, and various French civic and military groups will hold the Sixth Annual Saratoga/Yorktown celebration in the cemetery at St. Paul’s Chapel and at Trinity Churchyard.

The American Revolution Round Table (ARRT) of the Hudson and Mohawk Valleys will present Redcoats, Hessians, and Americans fought in the 1777 Battles of Saratoga on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 6:30 pm, at the Schuylerville Town Hall, 12 Spring St. (corner of Route 29 & 4, the old High School), Schuylerville.
The Fort Plain Museum has announced the return of its popular Fall Lecture Series. On Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 7 pm at the museum located at 389 Canal Street in Fort Plain, the museum presents “War on the Middleline – The Founding of a Community in the Kayaderossras Patent in the Midst of the American Revolution” by James Richmond. This is the first of four lectures that will take place at the museum.
