Mary Michael Shelley Exhibit Opening at NY Folklore
The New York Folklore Society in Schenectady has announced a retrospective exhibit of Ithaca artist Mary Michael “Folk Art Mary” Shelley, set to open on Friday, October 4th. Works in the show will span 30 years and chart the development of the artist’s work.

‘Thomas Moran Discovers the American West’ Opens In E. Hampton
The East Hampton Historical Society, stewards of the Thomas & Mary Nimmo Moran Studio, have announced their newest exhibition: Thomas Moran Discovers the American West, on display from June 29 until November 9, 2019.

New Historic Saranac Lake Exhibit Celebrates the Arts
Historic Saranac Lake has announced an opening reception for “The Art of the Cure,” a new exhibit in the John Black Room of the Saranac Laboratory Museum, located 89 Church Street.
This exhibit highlights Saranac Lake’s rich history of the arts. The Trudeau Sanatorium and the Study and Craft Guild offered groundbreaking occupational therapy programs to tuberculosis patients, many of whom went on to become accomplished artists, writers, and craftspeople. Frida Kahlo Exhibit in Brooklyn Opens Feb 8th
The Brooklyn Museum has announced Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving, a Major Exhibition Exploring the Life and Work of the Iconic Mexican Artist.
The exhibition includes Frida Kahlo’s clothing and other personal items; key paintings and drawings by the artist; photographs, film, as well as related objects from the Brooklyn Museum’s collection.
