Steven Engelhart Recognized With Historic Preservation Award
Former Adirondack Architectural Heritage Executive Director Steven Engelhart has won a 2021 Excellence in Historic Preservation Award from the Preservation League of NYS.
For 27 years, Engelhart served as Executive Director of Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH), the nonprofit historic preservation organization for New York’s 6 million-acre Adirondack Park and surrounding region, which comprises 12 counties and 102 towns and villages. Steven Engelhart Retiring From Adirondack Architectural Heritage
The Board of Directors of Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) has announced that Steven Engelhart will retire on September 1st, 2021 as the organization’s Executive Director after serving as its leader for almost 30 years.

Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH), the historic preservation organization for the Adirondack Park region, has opened nominations for its 2019 Preservation Awards.
For over 23 years, this annual awards program has recognized the sensitive restoration, rehabilitation, and adaptive reuse of historic structures throughout the region, and highlighted individuals who have promoted historic preservation revitalization efforts in their communities. The awards honor the preservation work of organizations, municipalities, and individuals who make the Adirondack region a better place to live, work, and visit. Adirondack Preservation Award Nominations Sought
Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH), the historic preservation organization for the region, has opened nominations for its 2017 Preservation Awards. For over 20 years, these annual awards have recognized sensitive restoration, rehabilitation, and adaptive reuse of historic structures, as well as individuals who have promoted historic preservation and community revitalization consistent with AARCH’s mission.
Projects of all sizes and scopes are eligible for consideration. The deadline for nominations is July 1, 2017. A celebration of the 2017 award winners will be on September 18, 2017, at a farm-to-table luncheon at the Nettle Meadow Farm, a 2016 AARCH Presevation Award recipient in the town of Thurman near Warrensburg.
