Almost 20 years ago when New York Almanack was founded I signed up for Amazon.com’s affiliate program in order to earn a small percentage from the sales of New York State related books noticed here on the site.
Today, Independent Bookstore Day, we’re switching to Bookshop.org, which allows Almanack readers to buy from independent bookstores of their choosing – supporting the Almanack AND their favorite bookstore!
I hope you’ll continue to support New York Almanack – and now your local bookstore – by buying through our affiliate links at the bottom of our book notices. To celebrate Independent Bookstore Day Bookshop.org is offering free shipping all weekend.
Just click on the book through one of the links we provide, establish an account at Bookshop.org and choose your favorite bookstore.
Not all books we notice will be listed on Bookshop.org – especially recently published titles from very small publishers – but placing a special order with your local bookstore through the New York Almanack‘s Bookshop.org page will still support this site.
Just be sure you see our logo in the top left corner when you make your purchase.
Note: We’ve noticed more than 720 books since the Almanack was founded. This will apply to all books going forward and I’ll work to change the links to our older books as I can.
Please do reach out if you have questions or concerns.
Yay! That’s wonderful news!
Great news, John! That makes me way more comfortable because I’ve sworn off Amazon and have supported The Open Door bookstore for fifty years. Nice going!
John: Plattsburgh NY reporting. Be advised. Bookburg (Mall in Town of PBG)) ist kaput. fini gone. Corner Stone Bookshop on Margaret St in “the City” still standing … only a stone’s throw from the 19th century gallows.
