Little Falls Cheese Festival Set For October 5th

Mark your calendars and get ready for a day of indulgence, celebration, and community spirit at the Little Falls Cheese Festival, New York State’s premier gathering of cheesemakers, featuring a variety of dairy delights from hard and soft cheeses to yogurts and curds, complemented by gourmet foods and craft  beverages.

On Saturday, October 5, from 10 am to 5 pm, Main Street in the Erie Canal village in Herkimer County, NY, will be transformed into a cheese-lovers paradise.

This year’s festival is all about the party atmosphere — imagine strolling through a vibrant street fair filled with live music, delicious aromas, and happy faces. “We’re not just an outdoor agricultural mall or a long line of booths; we’re a full-fledged celebration of New York’s rich cheesemaking heritage.” says Scot Nolan, of the Little Falls Cheese Festival Committee.

What to Expect:

Diverse Cheese Selection: From sharp cheddars and creamy goudas to soft goat cheeses and fresh cheese curds, there’s something for every palate.

Gourmet Foods & Craft Beverages: Complement your cheese finds with gourmet jams, artisan breads, and New York State fine wines, craft beer, mead and ciders.

Live Entertainment: Enjoy local musical acts and entertainers performing all day all along Main Street.

Food Truck Food Court: Satisfy your hunger with a variety of cuisines from some of the best food trucks around.

Free Cheese-Themed Play: Experience a unique theatrical performance that is sure to entertain the entire family.

Easy Access: Free shuttle buses will be available all day to whisk you to and from the festival, now with additional shuttles to minimize wait times.

New This Year: An After Party

There will be an after party at Rock City Brewery to benefit the New York Cheese Council with craft beer, cheese pairings, and live music. Tickets are available in advance via Eventbrite for $20, and $25 at the door.

Last year, the Little Falls Cheese Festival attracted between 8,000 to 10,000 attendees, and they’re expecting even more this year. Admission, parking, and shuttle buses are all free.
