Author of over 40 books for young adult and middle grade readers Neal Shusterman will give an address at the Harrietstown Town Hall in Saranac Lake, NY on Friday, September 22nd at 9:30 am.
Shusterman’s international bestselling series Arc of Scythe debuted in 2016 with the novel Scythe, which depicts a utopian world free of crime, violence, disease, and unhappiness, thanks to a benevolent Artificial Intelligence that governs society.
The only exception to rules of this future world are the Scythes, humans whose job is to keep the population in check by performing ritual “gleanings.”
This trilogy has garnered many honors including the nation’s largest for YA books, The Michael L. Printz Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature from the American Library Association. The books are currently in production to become a series of major motion pictures.
This event is free and open to the public. School groups and individual members of the public are encouraged to register at the Adirondack Center for Writing website. Shusterman’s books will be for sale at the event from SL Book Nook. He will sign copies after the talk.
