Stephen Sills On ‘A Vision for Design’ at East Hampton Historical Society

August 3, 2023 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

Interior Designer Stephen SillsFor the past seven years, the East Hampton Historical Society on Long Island has hosted informative luncheons with the intent to explore, illuminate, and celebrate the beauty and rich history that unites their community. This year’s Summer Lecture Luncheon has brought together interior designer Stephen Sills in conversation with David Netto to discuss Sills latest book, A Vision for Design (Rizzoli, 2023).

Wanting it to be a teaching book, Sills asked David Netto to write the text with his mission in mind.

David Netto will engage Stephen Sills in a Q&A as the designer walks participants through his projects featuring a wide variety of styles and locations — including the East End of Long Island — and his own house and garden. The East Hampton Historical Society will host their annual Summer Lecture Luncheon at the historic Maidstone Club, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, on Thursday, August 10 at 11 am.

The Summer Lecture Luncheon is made possible in part by support of Wilmington Trust, Christie’s, and media sponsor Town & Country. Proceeds from the program will benefit the ongoing restoration, collections, and exhibition projects of the East Hampton Historical Society.

Tickets for the Summer Lecture Luncheon start at $250 per person. For tickets, please call the East Hampton Historical Society at 631-324-6850 Ext. 1, or email at info@easthamptonhistory.org.  Tickets can be purchased online by visiting the Events page on the East Hampton Historical Society’s website at www.easthamptonhistory.org.
