Equality and Justice Conversations At John Brown Farm

June 27, 2023 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

John Brown Farm courtesy John Brown Lives“Conversations about Equality and Justice,” a series taking place at John Brown Farm in Lake Placid this summer will be occurring every Thursday in July and August.

In nine weekly sessions over the course of the summer, sponsored John Brown Lives! and Lake Flower Landing, local and national experts will co-facilitate each conversation.

The first conversation on July 6th, entitled, “Tear Gas, Whole Milk, and Chocolate Friends: How to Get Invited to the Cookout,” will be facilitated by psychologists Shawndel N. Fraser and Dr. Shenell Evans. They will lead the group through the navigating the labor of activism and highlight the importance of communication within and between groups, communities, and individuals.

For the schedule of conversations see Lake Flower Landing’s Facebook page or visit their website.

Participants are asked to bring lawn chairs and meet in the traffic circle at the John Brown Farm State Historic Site by 2:45 pm each Thursday. The Farm is located at 115 John Brown Way, Lake Placid, NY. Free and open to all.
