The National Lighthouse Museum on Staten Island has announced “The East River and Long Island Sound Boat Tour,” featuring many of New York City’s most fascinating and noteworthy historical sites, set for Sunday, July 9th.
The tour will travel the East River and Long Island Sound and will feature historical sites such as the Atlantic Basin, Governor’s Island; notable vessels at the South Street Seaport such as the Ambrose Lightship and the Waverley; the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Dumbo, the Williamsburg Bridge, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Corlears Hook (once a dangerous and sordid hotbed of criminal East River maritime life), Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Long Island City, Roosevelt Island and its newly restored lighthouse, Hell Gate, the Hell Gate Bridge and RFK (Triborough Bridge), Wards and Randalls Island, Astoria, North and South Brothers Island, Rikers Island, the giant Vernon C. Bain Prison Ship, and more.
Tickets are $75 for adults, $50 for children. Admission includes the boat tour, admission to the National Lighthouse Museum, and admission to a 4 pm SI Ferry Hawks baseball game.
