This week on The Historians Podcast, composer Maria Riccio Bryce, an Amsterdam, NY, native, discusses her new choral work Requiem: What Remains Is Love.
“I am so proud of the way I faced my own fears about the end of life,” said Riccio Bryce.
Music director at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church in Schenectady, Riccio Bryce’s other compositions include Hearts of Fire which deals with the 17th century Schenectady Massacre, the Amsterdam Oratorio and Mother I’m Here.
CD recordings of Requiem are available at Amsterdam Free Library. On Friday, May 26, Requiem will be performed at St Paul’s Episcopal on Hackett Blvd in Albany; Saturday, May 27, at First Reformed on N. Church St in the Schenectady Stockade; Sunday, May 28, at 3pm at Trinity Lutheran on Guy Park Avenue in Amsterdam.
