The Transcendentalists and Their World

The Transcendentalist and their worldThe Massachusetts Historical Society will present the 2022 Peter J. Gomes Memorial Book Prize to Robert A. Gross for his book, The Transcendentalists and Their World (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2021), on Saturday, April 1st at the Concord Museum in Concord, Massachusetts. The event will also be held virtually.

Following the award presentation, Gross and Dennis Fiori, former Concord Museum Executive Director and MHS President Emeritus will discuss the book. A reception will follow for those who attend in person.

The Peter J. Gomes Memorial Book Prize is an annual award that honors the best book representing the history of Massachusetts published in the preceding year.

This program will take place from 1 to 2 pm and will be held both in-person, and virtually. The Concord Museum is located at 53 Cambridge Turnpike in Concord, Massachusetts. For more information or to register, click here.
