The Museum at Eldridge Street has announced “Eldridge Eats: A History of the Lower East Side Food Tour,” a walking tour set for Monday, March 5th.
Attendees will stroll through the neighborhood’s 100-year history with long-time Lower East Side resident and Museum at Eldridge Street Docent Richard Soden. Soden will look at what life was like for Jewish immigrants at the turn of the last century: Where children played, where people worshipped, shopped, ate, did business, and how residents received news.
The tour will also explore more recent history, including how the neighborhood has evolved in the twenty-first century while sampling food from the Lower East Side of old and new.
Kosher and vegetarian options will be available upon request. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here or email contact@eldridgestreet.org.
