Frank Kobliski has been named General Manager of the Adirondack Railway Preservation Society, Inc., of Utica, and its operating entities, effective January 1st, 2023. This role is in addition to being President of the Board of Directors.
In a statement to the press, Steven Potter, Vice-President of the Board of Directors said: “Our organization in the year ahead will experience significant growth in our operations and products. By year end our rail operations will become the longest excursion passenger railroad operating east of the Mississippi, with regular service from Utica to Tupper Lake. Mr. Kobliski’s extensive senior management experience in the transportation industry and his eight-year service record on the Board will support a smooth transition.”
The additional role for Kobliski is anticipated to last through year-end. The Executive Committee will begin seeking a permanent General Manager during the latter half of the year.
The Adirondack Railway Preservation Society, Inc. (ARPS) operates the Adirondack Railroad, the Adirondack Scenic Railbike Adventure, and Peachtree Railbikes.
It is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer-based organization with main offices in Utica, New York. Since 1992 it has provided a memorable experience for more than 1.8 million passengers, operating on the former New York Central Adirondack Division located in upstate New York.
