As coyote breeding season begins in January, sightings are bound to increase. The Rockefeller State Park Preserve will host “Coexisting with Coyotes,” a program set for Sunday, January 29th.
In this program, Dana Goin from the Wolf Conservation Center will take a look at coyotes, their history and ecology, and what we can do to best coexist with them. The presentation is free and open to the public, and will take place in the Art Gallery at the Visitor’s Center, located at 125 Phelps Way, in Pleasantville, in the town of Mount Pleasant, in Westchester County, New York.
Reservations are required. For more information or to register, click here.

I’m glad to see a co-existence program here and that the fine Wolf Conservation Center is doing it. Wildlife lives alongside us in increasing numbers, since we are taking over so much of their habitat and climate change is impacting everything as well.
We NEED to learn to live together instead of killing these animals, and in most cases it is actions as simple as not leaving food uncovered and keeping pets indoors that prevents trouble.
All coyotes and other wildlife are doing is trying to survive and raise their young – same as us.
