Submitting Writing for Publication: An Adirondack Workshop

November 28, 2022 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

SOS: Where Can I Publish This? The Adirondack Center for Writing (ACW) will expand its First Friday offerings on Friday, December 2nd with “SOS: Where Can I Publish This?” a program including a free, drop-in workshop on the subject of submitting creative writing for publication to magazines, websites, and other publications.

Led by writer Lauren McGovern, “SOS: Where Can I Publish This?” will be a casual and collaborative discussion to help writers share resources and find prospective homes for their work. It is perfect for anyone interested in learning about how to publish their poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, or journalism.

Lauren McGovern, a longtime freelancer with an emphasis on reviews and profiles, transitioned to creative nonfiction and hybrid work in recent years. That pivot required a different set of skills and research. Attendees will hear what she’s learned, where she’s published, and her advice for finding success in the wide publishing world.

This program will take place at 5:30 pm during Friday Night Writes, ACW’s monthly “writing happy hour,” which runs from 3 to 7 pm. and is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is suggested. The Adirondack Center for Writing is located at 15 Broadway, in Saranac Lake. For more information or to register, visit the ACW website.
