The Arkell Museum, The Friends of Schoharie Crossing, and the Canajoharie Library have collaborated to bring “The Remarkable, Irresistible Erie” to the Great Hall at the Arkell Museum in Canajoharie on Sunday, September 25th.
This performance includes some well-known canal songs and some lesser known.
This 90-minute concert will feature music and stories of the people, places, and history of the Erie Canal. The concert features songs by folklorist and historian George Ward, Canadian Joe Grant, Dan Berggren and Jean Ritchie, along with other familiar traditional Erie Canal Songs.
Featured musicians and singers will be George Wilson, Paul Draper, George Ward, Annie Rosen, Jonny Rosen, Kate Blain, and Alan Thomson on the piano. The Old Songs, Inc. production is directed by Ms. “Andy” Spence.
This performance is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 1:30 pm, with the concert beginning at 2 pm.
