This week on The Historians Podcast, Stephen Williams is author of Off the Northway, a collection of columns written by Williams, who retired after 42-years at the Daily Gazette.
One topic is the long roller-coaster history of the dream, design, negotiations and construction of the $15 billion GlobalFoundries semiconductor facility in Malta, which recently announced plans to construct a second plant at its vast Luther Forest location. The facility employs three thousand people at its Malta location.
Off the Northway also provides perspective on events that impacted people living in Saratoga County stemming from construction of the Adirondack Northway six decades ago. The book was published by The Saratoga County History Center.
