Champlain Canal Region Visitors Center Opening

August 3, 2022 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

Champlain Canal Region Gateway Visitors CenterThe Historic Hudson Hoosic Rivers Partnership has announced the Champlain Canal Region Gateway Visitors Center (GVC), located at 30 Ferry Street, Schuylerville, is set to open on Saturday, August 6th at 10 am.

The new visitors center is the product of a collaborative effort of non-profit and federal, state and local governments to introduce locals and travelers alike to the historically significant and culturally unique Champlain Canal Region of Lakes to Locks Passage.

Centrally located along the Champlain Canalway and Empire State Trail systems, the GVC serves as an orientation point for visitors to explore communities in Rensselaer, Saratoga and Washington Counties. By boat, by car, by bicycle or even by foot, the Gateway Visitors Center directs visitors to the region’s cultural, natural, historical and recreational destinations and defines the narrative that links these destinations together.

The visitors center will be open from 10 am to 3 pm Thursday through Sunday throughout the summer and fall. For more information, click here.
