Kayak Through History in Schenectady, Waterford

Kayak Through HistoryThe Schenectady County Historical Society has announced the return of their popular Mohawk River paddling tours, in both Schenectady and Waterford, beginning June 15th.

The Schenectady kayak tour follows the modern Mohawk Harbor to the site of the city’s ancient port. The Waterford tour takes guests between picturesque islands and through the grand locks of the Erie Canal. Along both routes, an expert guide will provide attendees the history of the area.

Schenectady Dates:
meet at Mohawk Harbor near Druthers
Wednesday, June 15th at 6 pm;
Saturday, June 18th at 10 am;
Wednesday, June 29th at 6 pm;
Saturday, July 2nd at 10 am;
Wednesday, July 13th at 6 pm;
Saturday, July 16th at 10 am; and
Wednesday, August 31st at 6 pm.

Waterford Dates:
meet at Waterford Boat Launch at First and Front Street
Wednesday, June 22nd at 6 pm;
Saturday, June 25th at 10 am;
Wednesday, July 6th at 6 pm;
Wednesday, August 10th at 6 pm; and
Saturday, August 13th at 10 am.

Tickets are $35 and include a kayak, life vest, and paddle. Guests should be prepared to paddle for about two hours. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.
