Warren County Creates Website to Report Trail Problems

May 25, 2022 by Editorial Staff 4 Comments

Warren County TrailA new website developed by Warren County Planning & Community Development allows trail users to report issues they find on Warren County trails and notify the trail owner or maintenance organization.

The Warren County Trail Reporter has been developed in conjunction with organizations that oversee dozens of trails around Warren County.

Although the site will notify trail owners and organizations when reports are received, many of these organizations do not have staff available to immediately address a report.

The website can be found here. It allows users to describe the hazard, and prioritize the severity of the problem that was observed.

Is link takes you to a page for submitting a trail report. Isn’t there a page where people can view the trail reports? That would be more useful.

      “The link” …

Delete “more” in last sentence. The ability to submit reports is useful. Viewing them also would be useful.

It’s unfortunate that Warren County refused to engage with Adirondack Atlas which had already created a much better version of this system so they could create their own almost useless version. Tax money wasted.

The county is currently engaged in another useless and duplicative effort to blog history stories by putting them on a virtually undiscoverable webpage of the PR firm they hired to do the work.

It’s almost like they have an active effort to duplicate the work of their citizens in an effort to put them out of business.

I used the link to see how it works. The website asks for the “Location” by using a map. It says, “You may also manually click on the map to set the location.”. It further says, “After your location appears on the map, click ‘OK’ at the upper right to exit map.”. The upper right corner of my map does not show an “OK”. It shows a “trash can” (delete).
