Grounded: Get Down To Earth In Saranac Lake

May 3, 2022 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

groundedThe Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will host “Grounded: Get Down To Earth In Saranac Lake,” a month-long event beginning May 7th, highlighting the activities the Saranac Lake area in the Adirondacks has to offer during what is typically seen as an undesirable season (mud season).

The event will start with a “kick-off” 5K Run/Walk on May 7th at Riverside Park in Saranac Lake. This family friendly run will celebrate community and the spring season and provide opportunity to start the Grounded challenge.

Grounded activity suggestions are grouped into specific actions and provided to participants in the Grounded brochure. People can choose to Fish, Learn, Eat, Create, Grow, and Heal to participate in the event. As people go through and complete their Grounded actions they can keep track on a scratch-able Grounded Activity Card. Participants can then return their activity card to the Welcome Center to be entered into prize drawings including the grand prize of 2 round trip tickets on Cape Air (to Boston or New York).

More activities include the kick-off event: 5K Run/Walk on May 7th at Riverside Park, Forest Bathing hosted by Adirondack Riverwalking, Get Grounded on the Water with Adirondack Massage’s Pontoon Boat Cruise, Fishing Contest hosted by Woods and Waters and a downtown scavenger hunt hosted by the Saranac Lake Area Chamber.

People interested in participating in the event can stop by the Saranac Lake Welcome Center at the Harrietstown Town Hall to pick up their Grounded brochure and activity card from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Saturday or stop in at the Grounded 5K Run/Walk on May 7th in Riverside Park, Saranac Lake from 9 am to noon.
