The Lattimore family were key figures in the establishment of a viable and thriving Black community in Albany and became important links with the anti-slavery and abolition movements. They continued their influence after moving to the Town of Moreau and Saratoga Springs during the mid-nineteenth century.
The Saratoga County History Roundtable will host “The Lattimore Circle,” a program by retired librarians Julie O’Connor and Lorie Wies on Saturday, February 19th, at the Brookside Museum in Ballston Spa, Saratoga County, NY, and virtually.
The event will coincide with the “Black Experiences in Saratoga County, 1750-1950” exhibition which will be open to the public throughout the winter on Saturdays and Sundays noon to 4 pm beginning February 6th, with expanded hours in the spring.
This program is free and open to the public, will begin at 2 pm, and will be held both in person, and live on Facebook. Registration is required and can be completed online.
