Land’s 12-Step Program
Left alone long enough, cleared land
repeats all its stages back to the climax.
Here that’s forest. Pasture or garden—
neither gets a pass. Uphill and down,
former cleared land around the cabin
now sprouts brush and saplings. If you
decide to fight them, forget vacations.
Best you just haul ass for retirement.
