The Ticonderoga Historical Society (THS) will host “The Singing of the Green,” a program looking at the great traditions of American musical theater and how much those traditions owe to Irish-Americans, set for Friday, August 20th.
Highlights of the program will include music from some of the great theater productions, dating back to the mid-1800s. “we’re working to develop a soundtrack that everyone will find delightful, and we will be encouraging everyone to sing along,” says Historical Society Director Diane O’Connor.
The program is one in a series looking at “History, Race and Gender in the Adirondacks,” a programmatic theme for the Hancock House Museum.
The program is free and open to the public, and will begin at 7 pm at the Hancock House, located at 6 Moses Circle, Ticonderoga. Reservations may be made by calling the Hancock House at (518) 585-7868 or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
