July 4, 2021 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

Sembrich summer festivalThe Sembrich, in Bolton Landing on Lake George, will continue its Nature & Music Summer Festival with “The Lark Ascending: Violin and Nature” featuring Polish Violinist Kinga Augustyn on Saturday, July 10 at 6 pm.

The concert will feature works for violin and piano inspired by the beauty of nature including singing birds in Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughan Williams, shimmering water in Karol Szymanowski’s La Fontaine d’Arethuse, and Japanese cherry blossoms of Yui Kitamura’s Yumezakura. The program will also include Bela Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances, George Gershwin’s Summertime, and Pablo de Sarasate’s Gypsy Aires.

Augustyn first appeared at The Sembrich in 2016 and was a featured performer in the 20/20: Virtual Visionaries Summer Festival. Born in Poland, New York-based violinist Kinga Augustyn has performed at venues across Asia, Europe, and the United States including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She completed undergraduate and graduate degrees at The Juilliard School and received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Stony Brook University.

The evening concert will be held outdoors on the lakeshore under The Sembrich’s performance tent. Guests are welcome to bring their own chairs. Tickets are $40 and may be purchased on the Sembrich website or by calling (518) 644-2431. The Sembrich is located at 4800 Lake Shore Drive, Bolton Landing.
