Free Archaeology Day for Families in Albany on Saturday

archaeology program at the Ten Broeck Mansion, courtesy Hartgen Archaeological AssociatesThe Ten Broeck Mansion, home of the Albany County Historical Association, will host Archaeology Day, a family program on Saturday, July 24th from 10 am to 1 pm.

The Archaeology Day program features archaeologists from Hartgen Archaeological Associates, of Rensselaer, NY, showing the equipment and process they use for archaeological digs. The program includes free interactive maps for families to use to chart archaeological features on the Ten Broeck Mansion’s grounds. Mini-tours visiting key archaeological sites on the Ten Broeck Mansion’s 4 acres of grounds will take place at 10 am, 11 am, and noon.

This event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is recommended and can be completed online. The Ten Broeck Mansion is located at 9 Ten Broeck Place, in Albany. For more information see the Albany County Historical Association’s website.
