ANEAW is View’s signature show and open to all artists working in water-based media. This year’s exhibition will feature 83 artists from across the country. The Juror of Selection for this year’s exhibition is Pat Dew, AWS-df, NWS and the Juror of Awards is Matthew Bird, NWS, TWSA. In conjunction with the exhibition, several events and workshops will be held throughout the week following the opening.
A special Opening Reception will be held for all View Members & Exhibiting Artists on Friday, August 6th from 5 to 7 pm.
The annual Adironacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors Lecture and Breakfast on August 7th at 9 am with the Juror of Awards, Matthew Bird, NWS, TWSA. In the lecture portion, Bird will be discussing a selection of the paintings featured in this year’s exhibition. Around 10 am, breakfast will be offered to those in attendance. The cost for the Breakfast and Lecture is $20 for non-members and $15 for View Members and Exhibiting Artists. The lecture portion will also be live streamed for those who would like to join virtually. For those joining the lecture virtually, the cost is $12 for non-members and $8 for View Members and Exhibiting Artists. Registration for both the in-person and virtual portions is required and can be completed online.
Bird is a Signature Member of numerous organizations, where he serves as vice president. His award-winning watercolor paintings have been exhibited in juried shows across many countries. Matthew has been featured in many magazines including: Fine Art Connoisseur as one of “Today’s Masters,” American Art Collector, Watercolor as “One To Watch,” The Artist’s, and The Art Of Watercolour.
To celebrate the Opening Weekend of ANEAW, all visitors will receive half-off admission to the galleries on Saturday, August 7th, and Sunday, August 8th.
Members of the Central New York Watercolor Society will be holding classes for the public every day from August 9th through August 13th. For more information or to register, visit View’s website.
