Sembrich’s 16th Annual Young Performers’ Showcase

June 10, 2021 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

2021 Young Performers' ShowcaseThe Sembrich has announced its 16th Annual Young Performers’ Showcase, which celebrates the talent of young musicians from across the region, is set for Sunday, June 13th. The showcase is a free performance opportunity open to students and young artists from across the Lower Adirondack and Greater Capital Regions. This year’s showcase will take place outdoors on the lake shore and feature piano and vocal selections including works by Chopin, Puccini, Mozart, and more.

This year’s performers are Kevin Anderson, piano (South Glens Falls), Allison André, soprano (Moira), Robert Frazier, bass-baritone (Star Lake), Carolina Medina, soprano (Schenectady), Areli Mendoza-Pannone, soprano (Albany), Marissa Scotti, soprano (Albany), and Brian Vo, piano (Schenectady).

Created in 2005, the Young Performers’ Showcase offers young musicians the opportunity to celebrate their developing talent. The Showcase’s creator, The Sembrich’s first Executive Director Anita Richards, saw an opportunity to create a program to carry on Marcella Sembrich’s legacy of providing free performance opportunities to talented young musicians. Each summer, beginning in 1924, Sembrich would bring students from the Juilliard Graduate School and the Curtis Institute to her estate on Lake George to receive vocal training.

For more information or to purchase tickets to this event, the Sembrich website or call the Sembrich’s office at (518) 644-2431.
