Fort Ticonderoga has announced a Homeschool Day for students and their parents, set for Friday, June 4th, from 9:30 am to 5 pm. Attendees will be able to view museum exhibitions, explore the 2000-acre historic site, including the King’s Garden and the Carillon Battlefield Hiking Trail, attend a 75-minute narrated boat cruises on Lake Champlain, and more.
Expert historians will lead 1 ¾ mile guided hikes around the Carillon Battlefield, exploring the vistas and earthen remains of French & Indian War and Revolutionary War battles.
Programs will take place in the maritime trades shops and the garden at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm. A noon time program will illustrate the process of feeding the troops as the mid-day meal is prepared. A guided tour will be held at Mount Defiance at 4 pm, looking at its pivotal role during the French and Indian War.
A 75-minute narrated boat cruise aboard the tour boat Carillon will begin at 10:30 am. An additional ticket for the boat tour is required and can be purchased the day of the visit.
