The Arts Center will be open Thursday-Sunday, noon to 4 pm, and gallery exhibits will be featured all season in the Arts Center’s first-floor spaces. The Gift Shop will also be open to the public.
The Arts Center will kick off its Weekend Series with three concerts: classical pianist Anna Shelest on Saturday, June 26th, piano & flute duo Ivory & Gold on Saturday, July 10th, and pianist Richard Dowling on Saturday, July 17th. All three concerts begin at 7:30 pm. Other Weekend Series offerings will include a songwriting workshop and concert by Colorado folk duo Bettman & Halpin on Saturday, August 7th, and a concert by contemporary country duo Martin and Kelly on August 28th.
The touring Adirondack Lakes Summer Theatre Festival also returns with three productions: the comedy Bakersfield Mist July 23rd-25th, the free Shakespeare in the Parks production Twelfth Night: A Radio Play July 29th-August 2nd, and a musical revue, the Great Arts Cabaret, August 19th-22nd.
All performances will be conducted in a safe and fun indoor/outdoor format. An outdoor arts space is being created called the “ALCA-Seltzer Space: Outdoor Relief for the Return to Live Performance!”
The ALCA-Seltzer Space will consist of a large tented area, a stage with lighting and sound, and flexible seating. For indoor performances (concerts requiring use of the Arts Center’s Steinway piano), inside audience will be limited, and the performance will be projected on a large screen in the outdoor space to allow for overflow audience.
The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts is located at 3446 State Route 28, Blue Mountain Lake. For more information, including a full schedule visit their website.
