Saranac Lake ArtWorks Announces Summer Events

May 25, 2021 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

2020 ArtMarket courtesy Skip MurraySaranac Lake ArtWorks has announced their scheduled events for this summer, including open-air ArtMarkets and the Adirondack Plein Air Festival.

The first ArtWorks ArtMarket was held last September at Riverfront Park in Saranac Lake in order to provide artists with a space to showcase and sell to the community.  The markets are scheduled for Saturday, July 24th and Saturday, September 17th, both at Riverfront Park. ArtWorks members will have the first option to participate followed by non-members who have previously participated in similar ArtWorks events. There will be a small vendor fee to participate but admission is free.

The 13th Adirondack Plein Air Festival is set to take place from August 16th through 21st. Artists will be painting outdoors throughout the week while maintaining appropriate social distancing. Last year, ArtWorks held a virtual exhibit of the festival and sold paintings online. This year, plans are still unconfirmed for the Show & Sale that features the new paintings produced during the festival but ArtWorks is moving forward with plans to host a live event, reservations may be required along with proof of a vaccination or a negative COVID test.

ArtWorks will also have a presence at the Farmer’s Market at Riverside Park in Saranac Lake for the 2021 season. Every Saturday two different ArtWorks member artists will be at the ArtWorks tent showing and selling their latest works of art.

For a comprehensive listing of cultural events in the North Country, visit the Saranac Lake ArtWorks website or email info@saranaraclakeartworks.org.
