The event will be broadcast LIVE on WUTR-TV (ABC) and streamed on CNYHomepage.com. This event is the History Center’s largest annual fundraiser and will be hosted by longtime emcee Joe Kelly, Oneida County Tourism President Kelly Blazosky, and History Center Executive Director Rebecca McLain. The 2021 goal is to raise $30,000 to support the organization’s mission to protect and preserve Central New York history for present and future generations.
The first 40 callers to pledge $50 or more will be eligible to receive a limited-edition, History Center water bottle. The public can pledge their support by calling (315) 735-3642 during the telethon.
The Oneida County History Center does not receive government funding and relies solely on the generous support of members and private contributors. Contributions pledged during the 2021 telethon supports ongoing operations and strategic initiatives including continued care of their growing genealogical, archival, and artifact collections; free access to the research library for students and low-cost access for non-members; internship opportunities for college and high school students; free and discounted virtual programming; and exhibit development and installation, including a new Kid’s Corner.
