The Schoharie County Historical Society will host an online presentation with Jeff O’Connor, who will talk about his book The Old Stone Fort – Guardian of Schoharie County History Since 1772, on Thursday March 25th.
Beginning at 7 pm, O’Connor’s presentation will include photographs and other images that help tell the story of the Old Stone Fort. Constructed in the village of Schoharie, Schoharie County, as a Reformed Dutch Church in 1772, with the coming of the American Revolution, the church was enclosed by a log stockade. It then served as a school, a Civil War-era armory, and is now home to The Old Stone Fort Museum.
Jeff O’Connor is a local historian and has a long association with the Old Stone Fort Museum. He and his wife Pam team up as Turning Point 1777 to provide guided walking and driving tours in Schoharie County, as well as other services.
This event is free and open to the public, registration is required. For more information or to register, email OldStoneFortEvents@gmail.com or call (518) 295-7192.
