November 29, 2020 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

Ten Broeck Mansion Holiday House 2020The Ten Broeck Mansion, home of the Albany County Historical Association, has announced its Holiday House 2020 schedule. The Mansion will be decorated with shimmering lights, festive trees and bright garlands inside and out.

Tours will be available on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 2:30 pm from December 5-20. Indoor admission will be available by reservation only. Walk-through tours will share information about holidays in the past, and the history of the Ten Broeck Mansion.

On Sunday December 6th and 13th from noon to 2:30 pm, “Sinterklaas” the Dutch St. Nicholas and the patron saint of children will be available for free family photos outdoors on the Mansion’s decorated porch. Attendees will be able to learn about Dutch and other cultural traditions for the holidays.

New this year, the ACHA has free take-home ornament kits via its outdoor garden educational kiosk. Children may bring completed ornaments to hang on a community tree on display in the Mansion. The community is invited to bring canned goods or boxed cereal or pasta, which the ACHA will distribute to a local food pantry.

Also new this year is a Pop-up Porch Sale, featuring wreaths designed and made by local garden clubs and artisans. All proceeds support the ACHA’s education programming. Locally-made artisanal gifts and ornaments and new historic embroidery kits will be available. Pop-up Porch Sale hours are Fridays-Sundays, noon to 3 pm, December 4-20.

Ten Broeck Mansion is located at 9 Ten Broeck Place, Albany. Admission is 5$ for adults, free for children and ACHA members. For more information and to reserve tickets, visit the ACHA’s website.
