Annual Warrensburgh Garlic Festival Friday

warrensburgh garlic festThe Eleventh Annual Garlic Festival at the Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers’ Market is set for Friday, October 9th from 3 to 6 pm. This year the event is dedicated to the memory of Richard Rugen, owner of Hope Valley Farm and inspiration for the first Garlic Festival.

Caldwell Country Farm will feature its black garlic, while Graden Talun Farm will offer other unusual varieties of garlic. Hope Valley Farm will demonstrate garlic tying, featuring a variety of garlic and their signature pickled garlic scapes and garlic pesto. And Northeast Corner Herb Farm will offer their unique dried herb blends and herbal braids.

Horticultural information and recipes will be provided by CCE of Warren County Master Gardeners and Nutrition & Healthy Living Educator Marybeth Mitcham.

Attendees are encouraged to participate in the Garlicky Food Contest and samplings to go. Bring a copy of the recipe with your entry.

Children’s take home crafts will be offered by Megan Reynolds from Bee-ingARTSY, and Peter Burrall will be playing live music in the gazebo.

The Festival will feature Warren County farms and local businesses including: Adirondack Gold Maple Farm, Bear Pond Woodworking (fine woodwork and paintings), Birdy’s Designs (copper wired gemstone jewelry and plants in ceramic containers), Calico Corner (fabric crafts), Coffee with a Cause, Crazy Creek LLC (handpainted wood signs and earrings), Dawn’s Delights (fruit pies, brownies, cookies, granola, artisan breads, local honey, Nettle Meadow cheeses), Cretta Burchard (felted and handpainted pins), For the Love of Rocks (sterling silver gemstone jewelry), Glens Falls Distillery (Cinnamon Moonshine & Other Spirits), Jason’s ADK Produce (organically grown produce and plants), North River Hobby Farm (fresh flower arrangements and plants), Seeds of Wisdom (salves, essential oils and Native American Craftwork), Trillium Farm (chicken and duck eggs) and more.
