Adk Regional Airport Site Added to State Superfund Registry

Adirondack Regional Airport site provided by DECThe New York State Superfund Program, which identifies, investigates, and works to clean up sites where the disposal of hazardous waste may be a threat to public health, has added the Adirondack Regional Airport in the Adirondack Park at Saranac Lake to New York’s Registry of State Superfund Sites.

This link opens a public notice that explains the recent addition of the Adirondack Regional Airport Site (#517013), in Saranac Lake, Franklin County, to the Registry of Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites within New York’s State Superfund Program:

Additional investigation is required to further define the area of contamination and better understand exposure pathways. The next steps involve conducting a remedial investigation to determine the nature and extent of contamination at the site and cleanup options.
