Sembrich Launches New Grounds and Gardens Exhibit

August 26, 2020 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

Bay View by Fred ThatcherThe Sembrich has launched “The Bay View Grounds and Gardens,” the fourth exhibit in its 2020 digital series The Thatcher Photos.

This virtual walking tour looks at the grounds and gardens once surrounding Bay View, Marcella Sembrich’s Adirondack retreat. This latest installment in the series reconstructs the grounds as they were, nearly a century ago, through historical photographs by Lake George photographer Fred Thatcher.

The Thatcher Photos also includes “The Sembrich Studio,” an exploration of the history and evolution of Sembrich’s lakeside studio, “Sembrich at Bay View,” an exploration of Sembrich’s history as well as her professional personal activities on Lake George, and “A Tour of Bay View,” a guided tour of the interior of Sembrich’s summer home.

The four-exhibit series is available to view on The Sembrich’s website.
