August 7, 2020 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

Blueberry Mountain map courtesy adirondack atlasBlueberry Mountain in Keene, Essex County, is a moderate hike that offers excellent views and a unique summit, on which sits an 8-foot glacial erratic.

From the Marcy Field trailhead in Keene, NY, it is 2.5 miles to the summit. The trail begins for a short distance along an old woods road before turning left and entering a mainly hardwood forest. The climb begins moderately but soon starts a steep, steady climb offering several opportunities for views. The trail to Porter Mountain continues over the summit.

Ascent: 1900′

Trailhead Directions (Map)

From the intersection of Route 73 and 86 in Lake Placid or the intersection of Route 73 and Interstate 87 follow Rte 73 toward Keene Valley. At Marcy Field (a grass airport landing strip) the trailhead is at the back of the Marcy Field Parking Area located at the east end of the Marcy Field.

Blueberry Mountain is part of the Trails Less Traveled Challenge. Download the ADKGO app at ADKGO.com.
