Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site has announced a virtual book club, set for the month of August that features Heaven’s Ditch: God, Gold, and Murder on the Erie Canal (St. Martin’s Griffin; Reprint Edition, 2017) by author Jack Kelly.
The first virtual meeting will be on Saturday, August 1st at 10 am. Each week there will be “check-ins” to discuss the book with commentary provided by the author. Participants can submit questions for the historic site staff or Jack Kelly. On September 2nd there will be an online presentation with Q&A from the author.
This is part of a series of online programs Schoharie Crossing is offering while the Visitor Center is closed during the COVID-19 crisis. During NY on PAUSE, the Erie Canal historic site is providing programs through Webex as well as other online programs and social media.
The site grounds remain open for appropriate socially distant recreational use from dawn until dusk daily.
For more information call the Visitor Center at (518) 829-7516, or email SchoharieCrossing@parks.ny.gov.
